Sarah Shareef, MD/PhD
Sarah Shareef is an MD/PhD candidate at Harvard Medical School and graduated in 2013 with a degree in Engineering and Applied Sciences and a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy from Harvard College. Sarah aims to pursue clinically motivated basic science research through a career as a physician scientist with the ultimate goal of alleviating the burden of disease on society. Her interests are in understanding chromatin biology and its role in transcriptional regulation, genome topology, and cell fate. Supported by a Harvard Stem Cell Institute Fellowship, she is currently working on a PhD in Systems Biology in the Bernstein lab, modeling IDH mutations that are common in glioma and other types of cancer.
