Nicolas was raised in Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia and Örebro, Sweden. He received his bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering and in chemistry from the University of California at San Diego, and his master’s in physics from Harvard. Before attending graduate school, he worked as a mechanical design engineer for a robotics company in Carlsbad, CA. As a PhD candidate in Chemical Physics, Nicolas studies theoretical aspects of quantum computation and light-matter interaction. He was recently involved in graduate student unionization efforts on campus and has co-organized the Boston theoretical chemistry seminar series.
