Miho Kubagawa is a second-year student in the Doctor of Education Leadership (Ed.L.D.) program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is also the co-founder of SponsHER, a venture committed to closing the gender gap in education leadership. Prior to graduate school, she spent eight years at KIPP NYC in a number of roles, including as the director of talent recruitment and as the founder of the region’s teacher residency program with Relay Graduate School of Education. She began her career in Harlem as the founding 7th grade math teacher of KIPP Infinity Middle School, after graduating from Duke University with a B.S. in Economics. She is originally from Birmingham, Alabama and is the co-founder of Breakthrough Collaborative’s Birmingham chapter, where she currently serves as an advisor. Most importantly, she is a proud aunt to the cutest nephew in the world.
