Lis grew up in Western Australia and completed undergraduate degrees in law & economics in Perth. After university she joined the Australian Public Service where her professional experience has focused on developing Australia’s climate and energy policies. She is employed as a Senior Policy Analyst at the Australian Treasury, the Government’s key economic policy adviser, where she has been involved in designing the architecture of Australia’s carbon price mechanism and the $10 billion Clean Energy Finance Corporation. Lis has also worked on international climate change policy at the United Nations Environment Programme and Center for International Environmental Law in Washington D.C. She graduated with an LL.M. from Harvard Law School in May 2013.
