Kevin Ma is a Ph.D candidate in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard. He works with Prof. Robert Wood on the Robobees project to develop a flying swarm of robotic insects for robotic pollination and search-and-rescue applications. As mechanical designer, his contributions led to the first successful demonstration of stable, controlled flight of an insect-scale robot.
Kevin grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area in California and attended UC Berkeley, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He is anticipating a return to the region to join the high-tech entrepreneurial community and hopes to continue making significant contributions to the fields of robotics and manufacturing. and In his spare time, Kevin indulges in the practice of Japanese tea ceremony and also performs improv comedy with the Improv Boston comedy club community.
