Kaitlen is an MD candidate at Harvard Medical School completing an enrichment year before her 4th year of medical school. During this time she has worked extensively as the student leader of a new Wellness and Mental Health Initiative at HMS, advocating for prompt and sustainable changes to create a supportive environment for medical trainees and demolish mental health stigma. Previously, Kaitlen studied at Middle Tennessee State University before moving to Germany on a Fulbright fellowship, examining outcomes for patients with hypoxic brain injury. She has worked closely with people who have experienced many forms of trauma and is particularly interested in how medical care is provided for trauma survivors. Her favorite experience at HMS has been the Healer’s Art course, which allowed her to connect with her classmates in a way that nothing else did. She loves to be outdoors in the sunshine and misses the herb garden she had before coming the Boston.
