Jennifer Tsai is taking a year’s leave of absence from the Warren Alpert Medical School to pursue a Masters of Education at HGSE. She is so excited to sit and soak and revel in her glorious return to the Humanities and ultimately chose HGSE because she is in love with her life’s teachers as well as the potential and promise of critical education. As a former Ethnic Studies undergraduate, she has been interested in the intersections of race, medicine, and society. In medical school she was involved with health disparities activism, curricular reform, diversity measures, and research on the operationalization of race in biomedical literature and clinical nephrology. She can often be found wondering what would happen if she were to pursue a PhD, dancing around in places that are not dance studios, reading books on the floor, or dreaming about meals she doesn’t have the patience to cook.
