I came from Moldova to pursue a Master’s degree in International Education Policy at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. After graduating with a B.A. in Law in my home country, I started working at the national Soros Foundation, seeking to increase people’s understanding and reach of the law. For 4 years, I coordinated a project that created an innovative approach to addressing the legal awareness gap in the rural communities. Instead of bringing people closer to the law, we brought the law closer to people, by making it available, accessible and helpful for their progress as empowered individuals.
I am an alumna of Open Society Foundations’ Undergraduate Exchange Program. After studying for one year in the U.S. in 2008/09, I returned to my home country and implemented a small-scale community project that paved the way for my interest in education, development and nonprofit management. Following completion of my project, I helped several other students design and implement small projects in their communities. Most importantly, I invested my energy in helping them stay inspired and motivated to create change and scale it up.
I value integrity and believe that personal development is the best investment of anyone’s time and money.
