Daryl Vulis is a Ph.D. candidate in Applied Physics at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. She is currently working on designing nanoscale metamaterials for applications in optical computing as part of Eric Mazur’s lab. Settling on just one project was the product of trying out research directions at several institutions that include Harvard, Cornell, and even the National Institute for Materials Science in Tsukuba, Japan. Daryl hails from New York City and received her B.E. in Electrical Engineering and minor in Physics from Stony Brook University. She is a former freelance web designer and is still enthusiastic about the occasional artistic design challenge. She is also fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
