Chris Hurst

Chris HurstChris is a former Army officer and master planner/consultant. As an Army officer, Chris was trained as an Airborne, Air Assault Ranger, led a Dive Platoon, and served as executive officer for the Army Dive Company. Following an operations role within Central Command, Chris joined a consulting/engineer firm, CH2M HILL. There, he helped lead the firm’s master planning practice for the DoD in conflict zones, with responsibility for infrastructure/airfield master planning for US surges in Iraq and Afghanistan, and later, base turnover to host nation forces. At HKS, Chris helped lead an MPA/ID team to South Sudan, consulting on econ policy and organizational strategy with the new GOSS. Long term interests include public sector consulting, especially in the areas of (1) US competitiveness and (2) economic development.
