Benjamin is a PhD candidate in applied physics at the School of Engineering andApplied Sciences (SEAS), where he works on developing next-generation solar energy technology. Born and raised in Iowa, Ben studied physics and mathematics at Coe College before carrying out a master’s degree in archaeological science at the University of Oxford. At Harvard, Ben is particularly interested in developing strategies for dealing with climate change and is an organizer for Divest Harvard, a fossil energy divestment campaign. Ben is also interested in the interactions between technology and society and has been active in forming NanoStart, a nanotechnology think-tank and commercialization platform at SEAS. Other interests include piano, running, singing, and theatre.
