Ariel Herbert-Voss, PhD

Ariel is a first year PhD student in Computer Science at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. She completed her undergraduate degrees at the University of Utah in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science with a minor in digital design. During her undergraduate career, she had the opportunity to conduct research in theoretical algorithm design at Cornell University, data visualization at the University of Utah Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute, and computational neuroscience at MIT. She has received awards from the Goldwater Foundation, Google, and Myriad Genetics for her research efforts. At Harvard, she is now focusing on developing machine learning algorithms inspired by the brain.
