Apollo Story is a MC/MPA student at the Kennedy School. Prior to his attendance there, he has worked for the New York City Police Department for nine years where he will resume employment upon graduation. He currently holds the rank of Lieutenant and is passionate about social justice issues. In this increased state of police scrutiny, he feels there is a need for a direct focus on relationship building. Clear communication between law enforcement and the communities they serve about their objectives and strategies will result in both parties achieving a greater level of trust. He aims to accomplish this through officer training in which they acquire the skills to effectively work in a proactive partnership with citizens to identify and solve problems resulting in a better quality of life for all. He holds a B.A. in Communication Rhetoric and Psychology from the University of Albany. On his spare time, he loves to travel and is a fitness enthusiast having competed in numerous competitions.
