My name is Anna Ruman, and I’m a first-year student at Harvard Medical School as well as proud 2010 alumna of the College. During undergrad, I studied conservation biology and health policy and played lots of rugby. I took three years off before starting medical school, during which time I founded a microlending organization in Mexico (as a Frederick Sheldon Fellow) and worked for two years managing health education programs at a community health center in Chicago. I’m really excited to be back in Cambridge and can’t wait to get to know other graduate students. My particular passions include vegetarian cooking, food justice, participatory development, community psychiatry, and healthy living.
